Email County Chair Jeff Brower and County Council Member Ben Johnson
We are encouraging everyone to send an email to the two members of the Volusia County Council who represent all of Volusia County, Chair Jeff Brower and Council Member At-Large Ben Johnson, and urge them to support the recommendation in the county's new Five-Year-Plan to establish a countywide Housing Trust Fund.

Dear Council Chair Brower,
My name is (your name) and I attend (your congregation). As a constituent, I am encouraging you to follow the recommendation of the new Five Year Housing Plan proposal to establish a countywide Housing Trust Fund.
Too many in our community struggle to keep up with the rising cost of rent. It is clear that we can't rely on Tallahassee or DC to fix this problem. Over 700 local communities across the United States have established Housing Trust Funds, which provide grants to private sector innovators and non-profits who create, renovate, or sustain housing that is affordable for working families and seniors.
Over 1,200 Volusia County residents signed a petition earlier this year asking for your support in establishing a countywide Housing Trust Fund, kickstarting the new fund with $2.5 million from the American Rescue Plan, and allocating at least $1 million annually to sustain it.
In a few weeks, when the council is presented with this plan, I urge you to adopt this recommendation for a new Housing Trust Fund so that we can begin to create housing opportunities in county for those who need it most.
Thank you,
(your name)
